Private Property
is Under Attack
Americans are very concerned with the U.S. Supreme Court’s
recent Kelo vs. New London decision granting local government
greater authority and ease by which they can seize homes,
small business and family farms from unwilling sellers --
and rightly so.
Justice Sandra Day O’Conner wrote in her dissent
to the ruling, “All private property is now vulnerable
to being taken and transferred to another private owner,
so long as it might be upgraded. The specter of condemnation
hangs over all property. Nothing is to prevent (local government)
from replacing any Motel 6 with a Ritz-Carlton, any home
with a shopping mall, or any farm with a factory.”
To witness this impressive abuse of power, Californians
look beyond our State’s borders to see how government
is using its police powers to seize private property from
unwilling sellers.
Times have changed and these are certainly extraordinary
times for those fighting to protect your private property
rights. But together, California voters can achieve the
protections needed to protect their homes, business, farm
and private property.
The California Alliance to Protect Private Property Alliance
(CAPPPR) is dedicated to expose abuses of eminent domain
in the State of California, and to work with State and Federal
legislative representatives to restore private property
protections as intended by our Nation’s founding fathers.
